Currently, a person gets diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease every 66 seconds. Studies have shown, the disease is expected to double in the next five years, meaning that someone will be diagnosed every 33 seconds.   3. Of those 5.5 million, 5.3 million are 65 years and older, while the other 200,000 are under 65 and have early-onset Alzheimer’s.
  4. Women are the most commonly affected gender with 3.3 million having the disease, compared to nearly 2 million men.
  5. Alzheimer’s could rise to as high as 16 million people by 2050 in the US alone.
